Gold, Silver, and Copper Foil Sheets are specially manufactured for applications that require a thicker, heavier metal than traditional leaf, making them ideal for high-heat and flame-intensive processes. Engineered for strength, durability, and performance under extreme conditions, these foils are widely used by artists working in glass and other heat-based mediums. They are produced by increasing the thickness and density of the metal, resulting in a more stable material that can withstand direct exposure to high temperatures without breaking down.

Unlike ultra-thin metal leaf, which is delicate and easily disrupted by heat, metal foils are designed to maintain their structure during application. When introduced to molten glass or high-temperature surfaces, the foil holds together, allowing genuine gold, silver, or copper to be embedded directly into the work without tearing or disintegrating. The result is a brilliant metallic surface that fuses seamlessly with the material, adding depth, luminosity, and lasting visual richness.

Because of their increased thickness, Foil Sheets can be handled more easily than traditional leaf and do not require specialized gilding tools such as a gilder’s tip. They can be cut, placed, and manipulated directly by hand or with basic tools, making them especially practical for studio and workshop environments.

Standard foil sheets are packaged in sets of 10, with each sheet separated by tissue paper and cut cleanly on all four sides for ease of handling and storage.

Gold, Silver, and Copper Foil Sheets are ideal for:

• Glassblowing and hot glass applications

• Lampworking and bead making

• Kiln-based and flame-working techniques

• Mixed-media and sculptural work

• Decorative and experimental surfaces

• Embedding metal into molten or heated materials

Like other forms of metal, foil should be stored in stable temperature and humidity conditions to maintain its quality and workability. Keeping sheets flat, dry, and protected between tissue layers will help prevent damage and ensure consistent performance.

When properly handled, Gold, Silver, and Copper Foil Sheets provide a durable, high-performance alternative to traditional leaf, offering strength, control, and a striking metallic finish in even the most demanding artistic environments.
