With origins dating back to 1880, Brambilla Battiloro is a renowned Italian gold leaf manufacturer rooted in a multi-generational tradition of craftsmanship in Milan. A book of Brambilla Loose Gold Leaf—also known as Surface Gold Leaf—is carefully assembled by placing each delicate sheet of gold between interleaving pages of thin, lightly rouged paper. This traditional packaging method protects the fragile metal while allowing the gilder to lift and handle a single leaf at a time without disturbing the remaining sheets in the book.
