Pumice Powder

Pumice powder is an extra fine powdered volcanic rock used as a mild abrasive for polishing, surface preparation, and antiquing gilded finishes. It is commonly used by gilders and decorative artists to create subtle worn or aged effects on metal leaf surfaces. Pumice powder can also be used to impart a slight tooth to prepared grounds, helping improve adhesion for certain coatings and finishes.
This extra fine FFFF grade pumice is coarser than rottenstone and can be mixed with water or oils to form a polishing paste for rubbing and finishing surfaces. It is also frequently used to degrease gilding tools such as gilders knives and pads, helping maintain clean working conditions when handling delicate metal leaf.
Pumice powder is available in 100 gram, 500 gram, and 1 kilogram containers.
